Teacher's Day Celebration

Students of JIMS celebrated Teachers Day on 5th September, 2019 in the auditorium of JIMS Kalkaji. The function was attended by Director Dr. J.K Batra and Programme Director Dr. Rashmi Bhatia along with all the faculty members. The students organized number of games which were actively participated and enjoyed by all the faculty members. The students also performed various cultural activities like dance, singing and comic show.

Fresher Party BBA and B.COM(H) 2019-22 Batch

Attending a college after the school brings about a lot of joy and exposure to new life and new challenges and learning. It is important for each one of us to build a culture for our students where they can interact and participate freely. Fresher Party, therefore, gives them an opportunity to lose their inhibitions and understand the college culture.
Fresher’s Party of BBA and B. Com (H) batch of JIMS Kalkaji of 2019-2022 was held on 30th August 2019 at Ocean Pearl Retreat, Chattarpur. Programmes started with the formal welcome speech by the senior students. The next were music and dance performances by the seniors.
Mr and Miss Fresher Competition was conducted which had three rounds with elimination after each round. It started with introduction, showcase of talent and then the question and answer round. The participants were all excited for the event. The students cheered for their friends who were participating.  After a tough competition finally six students were shortlisted for the final round. The questions were asked by Programme Director, Dr. Rashmi Bhatia to the students on varied topics. Prakshal Jain of BBA I (E) was selected as Mr. Fresher and Rishita Semwal of B. Com(H) I(M) as Miss Fresher. Jitmanyu Thakur and Aarzoo Sethi won the title of Mr. Best Dressed and Miss Best Dressed respectively. The event concluded with JAM session with students rocking the dance floor. It was later followed by a High Tea for the students and the faculty.

Lastly, all the fresher’s thanked the college management and the senior students for hosting such a memorable programme which they will cherish lifelong.

 

Independence Day Celebration at JIMS, Kalkaji (NSS CLUB,BBA/B.COM(H))

Thousands laid down their lives so that our country can celebrate this day. Never forget their sacrifices.     Happy Independence Day.
15th August is celebrated as the Independence Day in India to commemorate its freedom from the 200-year-old British government. To celebrate this auspicious occasion of 73rd Independence Day, NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji conducted a workshop on 14th August, 2019 at Govt Boys Sr Sec School, Kalkaji.
A skit was performed by the students of NSS Club of JIMS, Kalkaji where they addressed the audience about the real meaning of Independence and what Independence meant to our great freedom fighters. 
The audience included students, their teachers and the management staff. The event started with the parade followed by the ceremony of flag hoisting by the Principal of the school, followed by the skit performed by the students of NSS Club. The skit was all about our great freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi, Mangal Pandey and Rani Lakshmi Bai about their life, their sacrifices for our country and how much freedom meant for them. The skit showcased the struggles of these freedom fighters for the independence of their motherland. In the skit they highlighted the important events in the lives of these freedom fighters.  
The event was a great success as all the participants put in a great effort to make the skit a success. The purpose of the skit was to make these young minds aware of the sacrifices behind the freedom they are currently enjoying.
The event came to a conclusion through a small quiz section conducted by the NSS Club members on our freedom fighters where kids were awarded with chocolates on every right answer.
The kids and the school management thoroughly enjoyed the event. The students of NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji were awarded with a  Letter of Appreciation for their efforts .

International Yoga day



BBA/BCom (H) department of JIMS Kalkaji celebrated 5th International Day of Yoga” on 21st June 2019 with a special yoga session on “Physical, Mental and Spritual Practices necessary for striking right  work -life balance” by Yoga Instructor Ms Varsha Gautam and Ms. Tamanna from Morarji Desai national Institute of Yoga, (Ministry of Ayush).
The event started with introduction to Yoga followed by Yoga Asanas and breathing exercises. The student, faculty and staff participated with full enthusiasm.

 

World Day Against Child Labour 2019

BBA/BCom (H) NSS wing of JIMS Kalkaji, observed “World Day Against Child Labour” and conducted an Article Writing Competition on Wednesday, 12th June 2019 for Faculty & Staff.
This year’s theme is 'Children shouldn’t work in fields, but on dreams'.

World Environment Day


BBA/BCom (H) NSS wing of JIMS Kalkaji celebrated World Environment Day.
Beat Air Pollution is this year’s theme and has been chosen by the host country in a bid to take on the global crisis of Air Pollution. UN Environment states that approximately 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each year from air pollution, with about 4 million of these deaths occurring in the Asia-Pacific region.
Air pollution is a huge problem every country is facing today. The silent killer, both outside and inside the home, is responsible for the premature death of 7 million people each year globally, including 600,000 children, according to a UN expert on the environment and human rights.
Therefore in tune with Ministry of Environment  recently launching a song ‘Hawa Aane De”, at JIMS Kalkaji BBA/BCom (H) department, Prof.(Dr.) Rashmi Bhatia, Programme Director, and Ms Aditi Joshi have initiated an “ADOPT  A PLANT”  activity on 6th June 2019 for faculty and Staff. All BBA/BCom (H) faculty & staff had to adopt a plant and kept it on their desk and take good care of it thereafter.

 

Poster Making Competition


BBA/BCom (H) NSS wing of  JIMS Kalkaji observed “World No Tobacco Day” on 31st May 2019. A poster making competition was organized on the topic “Ill Effects of Tobacco”. Students, Faculty and staff participated in the event wholeheartedly and made the event triumphant.

Goodbye until we meet again

For the outgoing batch of 2016-19, a farewell function was organised on 15th April, 2019 at Bella Monde Hotels in Chhatarpur. The celebrations started with a​ warm welcome of Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, Programme Director (BBA & BCom-H) and final year students with  solo dance performance.
Thereafter, class wise titles awarding ceremony began and each student was awarded a title by the immediately junior batches as a token of their love and memories they have shared during their stay in the college together. The ceremony was dotted with group dance performance and a choir singing performance by Kafila Band led by Sem IV students.
A title ceremony was planned for the teachers where at first titles were presented to our leaders- Chairman Sir, DG Sir, Director sir and Programme Director Ma’am as a token of respect for the way they have nurtured our students over the years to become leaders for tomorrow. All the teachers thereafter were presented with Bollywood inspired titles to add to the fun.

Workshop on Selling Skills 

BBA/BCom (H) students attended a workshop on "Selling Skills" on 15th Feb 2019, held at PhD Chamber of Commerce. The workshop was quite interactive and participative, and a great learning for students .Different models & techniques of selling, negotiation through various examples & case study were discussed

BBA/BCom(H) students participated in Inter Collegiate Volleyball Match, organized at Periyar Management & Computer College, on 12th Feb 2019

BBA student selected for "Pareeksha pe Charcha" with Hon'ble Prime Minister of India  

Arti Choudhary of BBA VI E won a chance to participate in the interaction with the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India which was on "Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0" from 11.00 a.m. on 29th January, 2019 at  Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
To be a part of the physical interaction with the Hon`ble Prime Minister two contests were organized by MHRD, the "Catchy Caption Contest" and "My Success Mantra".
Arti gave the following caption and success mantra during her participation in the contests -
Caption : Be ready for Modi ji to step up on the next level of ladder of development as sanitation and hygiene have become Indian's priorities.
Success Mantra : Start with time management, set up goals to be achieved in accordance with the time, work hard to acquire more knowledge, defeat the problem with best solution. Never lose focus of what you want for yourself. The only reason for your working should be the happiness of your heart.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi  interacted with several students, parents and teachers from across the country and shared his personal experiences and responded to their queries on a host of subjects related to examinations particularly, dealing with exam-centric anxiety and stress. Human Resource Development minister, Prakash Javadekar and Minister of State Satyapal Singh were also present there. This year, a cultural programme was also included in which the winners students (e.g. Dancers/Singers etc) from Kala Utsav contest, their parents and teachers performed and a short film on steps taken to reduce exam pressure was also telecasted. PM Modi discussed ways to handle the exam stress.
PM Modi started the event by saying "Pariksha Pe Charcha is not a platform to give advice or suggestions, I am here to live the state of mind of the youth."
Here are some questions that were asked by the students, teachers and parents:-

  • How they can make studies more fun? How exams can improve one's personality?
  • How can one pick a good career and prepare well for exams?
  • What must be the considerations while picking subject choices and career choices?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the questions by stating students should not get bogged down by the pressure of examinations asserting that they are just facing a class examination, and not the litmus test of a lifetime. He further added that students should stop running behind marks and instead aim big and learn more. “Open up your life, do not restrict yourself to marks – success will follow you."- PM.He  requested the parents to not impose their unfulfilled dreams and aspirations on their  children and to not compare them with other kids, as that might create a negative effect. “Positive attitude of parents’ becomes a huge force in a child’s life,” he said. PM Modi told the students to pick a career or subject that inspires them and underlined the scope of other subjects other than maths and science. Narendra Modi guided the students on how to deal with depression and stress, and not fall prey to it. During the event, a mother told the PM that her son was good in studies but now he is spending a lot of time on mobile. To this, PM Modi replied "PUBG Wala Hai Kya?" after which the crowd burst into laughter. PM then emphasised on the proper use of technology and said that technology should be for the expansion of mind.
Overall "Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0" event was a great interactive session and an amazing and enlightening experience for students, parents as well as teachers.

 

Inter Collegiate Yoga (Men & Women)Competition 2018-19, at GGSIPU
BBA/BCom students participated in Inter Collegiate Yoga (Men & Women)Competition 2018-19, which was scheduled on 14th January 2019 (Monday), at GGSIP University campus.
They performed various Asanas and were awarded : Boys team - 3rd position & Sidhant Saklani - 8th position.

 

BBA/BCom (H) Report for Excursion Trip – Shimla & Kufri
(1st – 4th Jan 2019)

 BBA & B.Com (Hons.) students  along with  faculty members went for the Excursion trip on 1st January 2019. They started  from the college at 10:10 pm and reached  Shimla at 10:00 am on 2nd January 2019. The visited  mall Road,  Kufri, and enjoyed various  adventure  activities and  Bonfire &  DJ night along  with delicious food. Overall journey was enjoyed by both students & Faculty members.

JIMS Annual Alumni Meet 2018
“PINING FOR THE PAST” JIMS Annual Alumni Meet 2018 was held at PSOI Club, New Delhi on 22nd December, 2018.
120 Alumni from BBA/Bcom(H) attended the event with full enthusiasm and nostalgia. The event was a great platform to connect with students and see their success and achievements. Mr. Ishaan Pundir from BBA Batch 2010-13 and Mr. N. Gowtham from B.COM(H) Batch 2013-16 won the JIMS Distinguished Alumni Award this year.

 

JIMS Inter Campus Sports Competition 2018

JIMS celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2018 on 27th October 2018 at Sports Complex, Jasola. The day was marked by the victories for some and misses for the others. The finals were played between different campuses of Jims for various sports such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Cricket, basketball etc. All the matches were very close and entertaining. Students participated in trials, semi finals and finals and brought laurels to JIMS Kalkaji by bagging 3 Gold Medals in Table Tennis (Girls - singles), Table Tennis (Girls - Doubles) and Badminton (Girls – Singles).
Apart from this 6 silver medals were credited to the record of JIMS Kalkaji in Basket Ball (Girls), Cricket (Boys), Table Tennis (Boys - Singles), Table Tennis (Boys - Doubles), Badminton (Girls – Doubles) and Volleyball – Boys.
The day ended with Director, JIMS, Lajpat Nagar congratulating the winners with medals and certificates.

 

GGSIPU Inter Collegiate Sports Tournament (2018)
Every year students from JIMS Kalkaji, participate in the sports tournaments organized by GGSIPU. This year, the events were flagged off on 11th Oct 2018 with March Past Ceremony in which 10 students ( both Boys and Girls) participated from the college. After the flagging off ceremony, the students participated in various events such as  - Volleyball (Boys), Basket ball (Girls), Basket ball (Boys), Badminton (boys), Lawn Tennis (boys), Athletics (Girls), Athletics (Boys), & Kabbadi (boys).

Students of JIMS celebrated Teachers Day on 5th September, 2018 in the auditorium of JIMS Kalkaji. The function was attended by Director General Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director Dr. J.K Batra and Programme Director Dr. Rashmi Bhatia along with all the faculty members. The students organized number of games which were actively participated and enjoyed by all the faculty members. FRESHER'S PARTY  - BBA / B.COM 2018-21 BATCH

“Freshers’ Party” in any college is the most awaited event of students after their admission in college. The purpose of this event in JIMS is that every “fresher” feels like an integral part of the JIMS family and readies to take on challenge of the years ahead. 
It was celebrated on 21st August 2018 for the 2018-21 Batch of BBA and B Com (Hons).
The day started with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The dress code for the Fresher’s day was ‘Dress your Best’. Joy and happiness could be seen in the students.
The program kick-started with a formal welcome speech by the senior students.
And then, it was the time for the Mr Fresher and Ms Fresher Contest which started with a ramp walk and an introductory session by all the contestants. They had to showcase their talent for three minutes.
After a tough competition finally 6 candidates were shortlisted.  Shortlisted participants were posed questions by the judges. Everyone performed to its best but finally Mr.  Benison was selected as Mr. Fresher and Ms. Sanjana Ghosh was selected as Miss Fresher.  In addition, Ms. Palak Aggarwal won the title of “Miss Best Dressed ” and  “Mr Sarthak” won the title of Mr Best Dressed.
The event was wound - up by DJ dance performance and delicious lunch.

All the Freshers including the seniors rocked the show and enjoyed the celebrations and all the Freshers thanked the college management and senior students for hosting such a nice program that they would cherish lifelong.

 

Entrepreneurship Club Activity - Collage Making


Collage making competition was organised by the Entrepreneurship Club of JIMS Kalkaji for BBA/B.Com (H) Vth semester on 23rd August 2018. Students participated enthusiastically. The theme of the competition was " New Era of Entrepreneurship". The talented students with all their creativity made interesting collage which was an insightful experience on New Ventures and Start-ups  in India and various  challenges being faced.

Winners from Morning batch were Jitika, Indrani and Shruti. Winners from Evening Batch were Ekta, S.V Preetha, Rashi and Swati.

Orientation Programme for BBA/B.COM(H) Batch 2018-21

Orientation Programme was organized to welcome the fresh batch of BBA and B.Com(H) on 3rd August, 2018 at JIMS Kalkaji Auditorium. The Chief Guests for the occasion were Mr. Sidhharth Chowdhry for the morning session and Mr. Rohit Churamani the evening session. Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman JIMS, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director general, JIMS, Dr. J.K Batra, Director JIMS Kalkaji and Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, Programme Director (BBA & B.Com(H) graced the occasion with their presence along with all the faculty and staff members were present on the occassion to welcome the students to the JIMS family. The event was meant to introduce the students to the JIMS culture, academics, events and various committees.

For the outgoing batch 2015-18, a farewell function was organised on 14th April, 2018. The venue of the function was The Claremont, MG Road
The celebrations started with a​ warm welcome of the Programme Director, Prof. (Dr.) Rashmi Bhatia with a bouquet of flowers, and then welcoming  of final year students with melodious songs by Tanzeel Hussain and Surabhi Sengupta. 
Each student was awarded a title by the immediately junior batches as a token of their love and memories they have shared during their stay in the college together. The whole ceremony was sprinkled with beautiful performances by second year students:
1. Group dance by Gouri Sahni, Khushboo Chahar & Anmol Dauneria
2. Solo Dances by Kartik Batra & Indrani Sen
The solo performance by Kanha Sharma received the most applauses as the songs made the students nostalgic thinking of the good times they had and the friendships they have forged which will stay for a lifetime. 
There was a title ceremony planned for the teachers where at first titles were presented to Hon’ble Chairman Sir,  DG  and Director. Our respected Programme Director, (BBA & B.Com.) Prof. (Dr.) Rashmi Bhatia,., was presented with the title "Leader of the fleet" as a token of respect for the way she has nurtured our students over the years to become leaders for tomorrow. 
All the teachers thereafter were presented with fun titles along with a background song to add to the spice. 
Each class also showcased a class video curating best of photos and videos commemorating the beautiful journey they had in JIMS.

Entrepreurship Cell Activity -Kabadi Bazaar


Kabadi Bazaar, an event  organised  for BBA VI on 15 march 2018 was a group activity to bring out the creativity of the students to use waste products and create something useful out of it. Groups of 4 were divided and students were allowed to bring the materials from home.  Ms Tanvi Gupta, Asst. Prof. (Faculty Coordinator -Entrepreneurship Cell ),  made students aware about their ability to make something unique and sell their products. Prof.(Dr.) Rashmi Bhatia (Programme Director)  also motivated and encouraged the students  tochoose Entrepreneurship as their career.
Students brought various items which includes newspaper, bottles, cardboards, boxes etc to make best products out of the waste. The products which were created by the students were

  1. Flower vase made out of plastic bottles.
  2. Magazines stand from food boxes
  3. Pen and pencil holder from bottles and cardboard
  4. Gift wrapping box made out of newspaper
  5. Bookmarks
  6. Decorative vases. And many more such products.

Such type of activity is important for the students to know what their strengths and weaknesses are. It will help them to enhance their entrepreneurial skills. Such activities are not only enjoyable but also a learning process for the students. Students should be able to explore  that with their innovative thinking and risk taking capabilities, they can surely become successful entrepreneurs.

International Women’s Day Celebration on 8th March 2018

JIMS Kalkaji organized a series of Guest Lectures on ‘Women empowerment through Women entrepreneurship’to celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 08, 2018. Ms. Jaya Goyal, Chairperson, Jury Member, SME of India along with Ms. Meenu Dhall, CA and Ms.  Alisha Dhanjal, MD-AJ Corporate Services addressed BBA/B.COM(H) students. 
 Ms Jaya Goyal initiated her speech by referring, Women's economic empowerment to the ability for women for enjoying their right to control and benefit from resources, assets, income and their own time, as well as the ability to manage risk and improve their economic status and well being. Ms Meenu Dhall focused on the ways of achieving Women’s Empowerment through various mediums like, Land rights offer a key way to economically empower women, giving them the confidence they need to tackle gender inequalities. Ms Alisha  Dhanjal, stressed upon,  participation of women in all the fields, which can be seen and gained in a variety of ways, and has been argued to be the most beneficial form of gender empowerment.
At the last, there was a panel discussion among all the invited guests. Students also raised their concerns and questions on the topic, which were well addressed by the panel. Dr Batra concluded the event by proposing the vote of thanks to the invited guests and by saying that, education for women is of prime importance as education empowers women to make choices that improve their own and their children's health and chances of survival. Overall, it was a big toast to Women Empowerment and thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.

 

JIMS ANNUAL PICNIC 2017

"JIMS Day Out" Annual Faculty and Staff Picnic 2017 was held at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri on 30th December, 2017. All faculties, staff, HODs and directors participated in various games like badminton, tambola, lemon spoon race, kho-kho etc. with full enthusiasm and excitement. Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman of JIMS graced this occasion with his presence.


 

JIMS Annual Alumni Meet 2017

"NOSTALGIA" JIMS Annual Alumni Meet 2017 was held at PSOI Club, New Delhi on 16th December, 2017.

71 Alumni from BBA/Bcom(H) attended the event with full enthusiasm and nostalgia. The event was a great platform to connect with students and see their success and achievements. Mr. Aman Kukreja from BBA Batch 2010-2013 won the JIMS Distinguished Alumni Award this year.

JIMS celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2017  on 10th of November 2017 at Sports Complex, Jasola. The day was marked by the victories for some and misses for the others. JIMS Kalkaji  grabbed silver for five events viz Volleyball Boys, Cricket, Badminton Boys Doubles, Basketball – both Girls and Boys. The day ended with our guest, Prof Major Gen M P Singh congratulating the winners with medals and certificates.

After stiff competition finally 6 candidates were shortlisted for second round. They were asked questions by judges. Everyone performed their task very well but finally Mr.  Sarthak Washwa as Mr. Fresher and Ms.  Anushka Sharma as Miss Fresher won the title.

In addition, Ms. Deepanshi Bathla won the title of “Miss Best Dressed ” and  “Mr Tanishq Babbar won the title of Mr Best dressed.
The honour of Mr. Fresher and Ms Fresher was rewarded by Dr.(Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director-General , Dr. J. K. Batra, Director -JIMS Kalkaji and Program Co-ordinator Dr. Rashmi Bhatia.
The event was wound - up by DJ dance performance and delicious lunch.

Convocation ceremony for BBA/Bcom(H) batch 2013-2016 was held on 29th July, 2017 at JIMS Kalkaji Auditorium. Students were awarded the degrees and toppers were facilitated by medals. Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Dr. J.K Batra Director, JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. (Cdr) Seth Director Generaj, JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. Rashmi bhatia, HOD BBA/Bcom(H) graced the occasion.

JIMS Kalkaji bid farewell to students of BBA and Bcom (H) Batch 2014-17 on 15th April 2017. The Farewell party was held at Paradise Banquet, Vasant Kunj. This occasion was graced with the presence of Dr. J.K Batra, Director, JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, HOD BBA & Bcom. and Dr. Seema Aggarwal, Joint Registrar. 

All the students of this batch were given titles and special titles were given to Shagun Goel (Mr. JIMS BBA), Ashish Gupta (Mr. JIMS Bcom), Simranjit Kaur (Ms. JIMS BBA), Nandika Kumar (Ms. JIMS Bcom). Best dressed students of the occasion were Akshay Batra and Parvee Kapoor.

JIMS Annual Alumni Sports Meet 2017

JIMS Annual Alumni Sports Meet was held on 11th March, 2017 at Sirifort Sports Complex. Alumni from various campuses and batches participated in various games like cricket match, Badminton, Table-Tennis and football.

Annual Inter-JIMS Sports Day 2017 was held on 25th February at CWG, Jasola and Sirifort Sports Complex. Cricket was organised at CWG complex, Volleyball at Jasola Sport complex and rest of the events took place at Sirifort Sports Complex. 
Students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The prize distribution ceremony took place at Sirifort Sports Complex and the occasion was graced by the presence of our honorable Chairman sir as well as Director sir.

Martibhasha Diwas was celebrated on 21st February, 2017. Students participated in singing and debate competition. The theme of the event was "Anekta mein Ekta"

3-day excursion trip December'2016

A 3-day excursion trip was organised for the students of BBA/B.Com(H) to Dharamshala - Mcleodganj from 18th to 21st Dcember, 2016,  students enjoyed the chilling weather, trekking and camping . Students were taken to various tourists spots like Bhagsu Falls, Montessori, Mall Road etc.

"JIMS Day Out" Annual Faculty and Staff Picnic 2016 was held at Burari Farmhouse on 24th December, 2016. All faculties, staff, HODs and directors participated in various games like cricket, tug of war, lemon spoon race, kho-kho etc. with full enthusiasm and excitement. Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman of JIMS graced this occasion with his presence.


 

JIMS Alumni Meet 2016

JIMS Alumni Meet 2016 was held at Chelmsford Club, New Delhi on 17th December, 2016.

91 Alumni from BBA/Bcom(H) attended the event with full enthusiasm and nostalgia. The event was a great platform to connect with students and see their success and achievements.Ms. Shubhra from BBA Batch 2010-2013 won the JIMS Distinguished Alumni Award this year.


Teacher's Day Celebrations-2016

Teacher's Day 2016 was celebrated with full enthusiasm on 5th September 2016 in campus auditorium. The event began with a beautiful invocation kathak performance by one of our talented student and other students showcased their talents of singing, beat boxing and self composed poetry. The Party started with Mr. & Miss Fresher contest along with some filler performances and games. The fresh batch enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the party. The party was attended by faculties, staff along with our Director Dr. J.K Batra and Dr. Rashmi Bhatia (HOD BBA & B.Com).

Orientation programme for the new batches of BBA and B.Com(H) was organized on 2nd August, 2016 in JIMS Kalkaji auditorium. The Convocation Ceremony 2016 for BBA Batch 2012-2015 was held on 16 th July, 2016 at the JIMS,Kalkaji Auditorium. The event was honored by Chief Guest Mr Maneesh Garg, Joint Secretary, SchoolEducation and Literacy Bureau, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

  

  

ANNUAL ALUMNI SPORTS DAY on 5th March, 2016

The event was organized on the 5th March 2016 at Siri Fort Sports Complex in which alumni of BBA participated in various events with full exuberance. Events such as Cricket, Football, Badminton and Table tennis were organized in which more than 200 alumni participated with full zeal and fun.

 

Farewell BBA / B.Com (H) 19th April,2016

A farewell party was organized by the institute on 19th April, 2016 at Royal Park Banquet Hall, GK-II to say goodbye to the students of BBA / B.Com (H), batch 2013-2016. Each student was given momento and gifts by the college. All the faculty, staff and students of IVth and VIth semester were present. Special Guest Lecture

JIMS Kalkaji Invited Dr. Greg Haddock, Vice Provost & Dean, Graduate School, Northwest Missouri State University for a special lecture that, was held on 7th September, 2015 in JIMS, Kalkaji auditorium. The topic of the lecture was "Globalization & Prospects of Higher Education in the Mid-West, USA".

   

   

Fresher's Party 2015

The Fresher's party to welcome the new batches of BBA and B.Com(H) 2015-18 was organized on 28th August, 2015 in Paradise Banquet, Vasant Kunj. The party started-off with cultural programs by students of 2013-16 and 2014-17 batches and introduction and talent rounds for Mr. and Ms. Fresher.

The event was graced by Dr. J.K. Batra, Director JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, Director BBA Programme, Dr. Preeti SIngh, Director B.Com(H) Programme and all the faculty members. Gagandeep from B.Com(H) and Vasundhara from BBA were awarded the titles of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher respectively.

Graduation Ceremony-2015

The Graduation ceremony for BBA batches 2009 – 12, 2010 – 13, 2011 – 14, was held on 3rd July, 2015 in the Auditorium of JIMS Kalkaji. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Poonam Verma, Principal,Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies,University of Delhi. The event commenced with lamp lightning by the chief guest along with Hon'ble Chairman Sir, Dr. Amit Gupta, HOD BBA, Dr. Rashmi Bhatia and Controller of examination Dr. Preeti Singh.

Degrees were distributed to all the students present on the occasion.The merit holders for all the three batches were also awarded by the honorable chief guest.

  

  

  

The International Yoga day

The First International Yoga Day was celebrated in JIMS Kalkaji campus on 22nd June, 2015. A special yoga session was given by Mr. Deepak Ghosh, renowned yoga trainer and therapist. The session was attended by faculty and students and were taught about simple yoga techniques and Asanas that can be performed to release workplace stress. He focused on seeking health, joy, peace and love, success in the world or inner exploration one is striving for, simple practices of yoga designed to help us cut through the struggle and walk through life with ease, enhance vitality, focus, memory, productivity, teamwork and communication and stabilizes the body, mind and emotions.

  

  

Farewell Party 2015

Farewell party was organized on 25th April, 2015 for the outgoing batch of BBA at Paradise Banquet Hall, Vasant Kunj. The party was organized by the students of BBA and B.Com(H) second year.
It was a fun- filled event with lots of performances by the juniors. Titles and gifts were presented to all the students of VI semester by their juniors. For the morning batch, Niyati Kapoor and Satwik Arora were declared Ms. JIMS and Mr. JIMS respectively. Anjali Pant and Sagar Tomar were awarded the title of Ms JIMS and Mr. JIMS for the evening batch.

The event was followed by the cake cutting ceremony and lunch.

JIMS Annual Trip to Jaisalmer

A three-day annual trip was organized for all the students of BBA VI semester in the month of April, 2015. The students were accompanied by two faculties Ms. Mugdha Sehgal and Ms. Neha Anthwal.

Alumni Sports Meet 2015

The JIMS Alumni Sports Day took place on Saturday March,7, 2015, at the Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi with over 100 alumni, faculty and staff members reuniting for a day of sporting competition, making it another record year for JIMS.

Entering its 2nd Year, this annual event saw the alumni return and line-up amongst their old teammates to reignite memories of their sporting experience at the College, whilst hoping to win the medals at the end of the day.

The Sports Day saw alumni from Vasant Kunj,,Kalkaji and Lajpat Nagar campuses compete against each other in Cricket (for Men), Men and Ladies Badminton and Table Tennis.

Alumnus, Parit Cally (BBA, 2010-13),Manager with Max Bupa Insurance Co. Ltd. said, 'It has been really exciting to see everyone again and I am feeling quite nostalgic about it all".

The action continued at the cricket pitches, with teams from Vasant Kunj (2 Teams),Kalkaji and Lajpatnagar campuses showcasing great skills and engaging in friendly rivalry. The alumni refused to let the rain showers dampen the atmosphere, with the competition getting more intense as the alumni tried to overcome their rivals.

'It is a really nice atmosphere down here and I definitely wasn't expecting this great ambience and the bonhomie at this Sports Complex". Watching the Cricket match between the teams is amazing !', commented Aayush Gandhi (BBA, 2007-10) who is an entrepreneur manufacturing and marketing architectural hardware.

There is twenty of us Faculty and Staff altogether with eighty Alumni so it proves how popular this day is, I am already looking forward to next year's event', said Prof.B.Manchanda,Associate Professor and Head-Corporate Affairs,JIMS,Vasant Kunj.

The Day rounded off with the Prize Distribution Ceremony where Dr.Amit Gupta,Chairman JIMS gave away the trophies and medals to the winning and runners up teams in Cricket and individual winners in Badminton and TableTennis.

With the event proving a huge success for everyone involved, the alumni are already looking forward to Alumni Sports Day 2016 and welcoming even more participants back for this fantastic Day

Alumni Meet 2014

Alumni Meet 2014 was held on Saturday, 13th of December at Chelmsford Club,New Delhi. Alumni, faculty and staff members from all campuses attended the programme. The function was presided over by the Directors of JIMS Kalkaji, Vasant Kunj, Lajpat Nagar and Greater Noida who welcomed all the Alumni Members for their presence at the event.The audience was kept entertained by various games, photo shoots and other activities. The alumni also shared their experiences by writing messages on the story board kept at the venue. The Best Alumnus Award-2014 was given for each campus by respective Directors with a Gift Coupon, trophy and bouquet. The Best Alumnus Award for JIMS Kalkaji was awarded to Mr. Gaurav Nath Mathur, Deputy Manager, Marketing, GAIL of 2002-04 MBA batch.

   

   

 

Teacher's Day Celebrations 2014

Students of JIMS celebrated Teachers Day on 5th September, 2014 in the auditorium of JIMS Kalkaji. The function was attended by Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Dr. Rashmi Bhatia, Dr. Preeti Singh and all the faculty members. The students organized number of games which were actively participated and enjoyed by all the faculty members.

   

 

Blood Donation Camp 2014

Working towards social cause, a blood donation camp was organized on September 1, 2014 by JIMS, Kalkaji in association with Rotary Blood Bank and Rotary Nirvana. The students as well as faculty members actively participated in the event and made it a great success.

JIMS Delhi, Distinguised Leader Lecture

The 7th Annual JIMS Distinguished Leader Lecture was held on 26th February, 2014 at Sri Sathya Sai International Auditorium, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Hon'ble Former Lt. Governor, NCT of Delhi, Shri. Tejendra Khanna delivered a lecture on "Higher Education and Grooming of Visionary Leadership for Resurgent India".

The lecture was attended by the students, faculty and staff members from all the JIMS campuses.

   

   

JIMS New Delhi, MARKATHON - 2014

Markathon-2014, the Annual Marketing Festival, was held on 22nd February, 2014. The festival was attaended by students from several top Delhi- NCR colleges like Hansraj College (DU), GIBS, Deshbandhu College (DU), Faculty of Law (DU), NDIM, SRCC (DU), Zakir Hussain (DU) and Amity Business School. All students participated enthusiastically in events such as Ad Mad, Ad Guru, Kabadi Bazaar and Management Games.

The event was marked by high enthusiasm and gaiety. Certificates were awarded to the students for participation in various events and winners were also given cash prizes.

  

  

Faculty Picnic-2014

JIMS organized it’s annual picnic on 11th January, 2014 in a beutiful farm house in Burari. It was attended by around 170 faculty  and staff members from all the JIMS campuses. Many games like badminton, cricket, tambola, and various competitions were organized. The DJ rolled out hot favorites for faculty and staff to show off the dancing skills. The Best Dancer prize was  given by chairman sir Dr Amit Gupta.  It was a great event enjoyed by all the members present.

  

JIMS Grand CSR Initiatives

JIMS has over a period of time achieved considerable renown in academic and industry circles for the impressive CSR initiatives it has undertaken to improve the quality of life of thousands of poor, needy and underprivileged members of our Society. These initiatives have largely been taken in areas of Health, Education Employment, Child Nutrition, Skills training to Woman and Youth etc.

A grand initiative recently undertaken by our Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta, a prominent Social Entrepreneur, was to adopt eight (08) EKAL schools which would provide primary education to hundreds of children in the remote villages of India. An impressive Ceremony to mark the occasion was held in our auditorium on 28 Nov 2013 wherein a cheque of Rs. 16 lakhs was presented to Prof. Meena Srivastava who has spearheaded the EKAL Vidyalaya Programme on behalf of the Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad.

Our campus has also commenced an important programme regarding adoption of orphanages in the Delhi-NCR region. Cash and material aid will be provided to educate, clothe and nourish these needy children.

 Kudos to JIMS for the very many altruistic initiatives it undertakes as a part of its mission to improve the quality of life of members of our Society!

Satish Seth along with the Chief Guest inaugurated the festival. The event which was marked by high enthusiasm remains one of the most memorable events in the festival calendar of JIMS for 2012.

The annual marketing festival "Markathon 2011" was held on 28th Jan 2011 in Kalkaji Campus. Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director inaugurated the event amongst great ordeal and enthusiasm. Students from 17 colleges such as Sri Venkateshwara College, NDIM, Accurate Business School, Shri Ram College of Commerce, IITM etc. participated in an array of events. This much awaited event, with combined labors and zeal of faculty and students has become one of the most memorable events in the recent history of JIMS.

On 24th January, 2011 ,The 5th Annual Jagannath Gupta Commemorative Lecture was held at Sri Sathya Sai International Auditorium, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Prof. B.B. Bhattacharya, Hon'ble Vice- Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Delivered a lecture on the topic "India in the 21st Century".

Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Directors of Kalkaji, Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj and Greater Noida campuses attended this special event. Dr. P.L.Sanjeev Reddy, ex-Director, IIPA was the Guest of Honour.

The Commemorative lecture was attended by the students, faculty and Staff members of Kalkaji, Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj-I&II and Greater Noida campuses.
